Bamboo Plate Rack

A bamboo plate rack.

An elegant plate rack with vertical and horizontal dowels supporting up to eighteen plates upright with an additional shelf below for more crockery.

Bamboo legs support the piece and finials have been added to the top and bottom. The plate rack is wall-mounted with metal brackets and looks best laden with a mix of plates, dining table accessories and special pieces.

Our standard plate rack comes in a 1.6m width but please do enquire for bespoke sizes. The plate rack works well in a kitchen dining space or a dining room for displaying special plates and useful storage. We think it would work well in a kitchen as additional display area for china.

The bamboo collection is a contemporary take on furniture dating back to 15th century India and China, prevalent in its imitation form in Victorian times. It combines an exotic appeal with a modern bohemian aesthetic. The lamp bases suit a variety of rooms and have wide appeal in their varied finishes.

The components are hand-turned on a traditional wood lathe, simultaneously spinning and shaping. Through careful use of a chisel, the bamboo stems and nodes are formed, with a subtle irregularity. Each piece is unique and celebrates the individual grain patterns found in the timber.
